One World! According to Disney it’s a small
world. With the overall theme of the Scouting Centenary year being “One
World One Promise” Bedfordshire Scouts have adopted this theme for Beds
Camp 100, the County Scouting Centenary Celebration Camp being held in
May this year. Each of the 9 Districts from around the county will be
camping in sub camps with a different Country Theme. Lea Valley's sub
camp leader, for Beds Camp 100, picked Australia out of the hat. |

|
With games
and activities within the sub camp themed on Australia, all members of
Lea Valley District are set for a bank holiday weekend to remember. Beds
Camp 100 will also offer all Scout Members, young and older, a chance to
try a whole range of activities including: abseiling, archery, crate
stacking, pot holing, low wires, pedal carting, scouting skills,
hovercraft, mini quads, circus skills and over 80 more!
So what
about Australia? Lea Valley Scouts will be learning about Australia, the
national anthem, famous land marks, local flora and fauna. They will be
making an entrance gate to the sub camp, singing Australian camp fire
songs, as well as building and parading a carnival float based on
Australia! |
