On the 15th
April 2008, the first 3 Lea Valley Explorer Scouts were invested.
District Explorer Scout Commissioner Debbie Burnham was extremely
pleased to be able to perform the investitures before the Town's St.
George's Day Parade.
For the
three Explorer Scouts, Gina Jenkins, Kat Woollard & Shelly Woollard, it was a very special occasion. Not only
were they the founding members of the Unit, but they also got to wear
the Unit's new scarves made from Black Watch Tartan. The 'colour' that
they themselves had chosen.

We would
hope that the Explorers don't live up to the fearsome reputation of the
Royal Highland Regiment, after whom the tartan is named, as they were
nicknamed "The Ladies From Hell" by the German troops in WWI.
The
Explorers are making plans for several Activities and Camp this coming
term and would welcome any new members to join them. |
