Beech Hill Scout Group On The Up

Despite the fact that Beech Hill ISB Scout Group have only been meeting this term since the end of Ramadan, they definitely haven't been standing still. On their first night back, the group started both a Beaver Colony and a Scout Troop, with some assistance from District and County Scouters, the Beech Hill Leaders successfully launched both new sections with a full programme of activities and games.

Four weeks later, on the 22nd October, Group Scout Leader faraz Mir (pictured above with the badges he was about to present) invested all 27 new members, which of course included the new section leaders and assistants as well as the new youth members.

At 8pm, the Beavers, Cubs & Scouts all gathered together in the Scout Hall with their parents and siblings. The 8 Beaver Scouts were invested first during which everyone said their Beaver Scout Promise, the Beavers were given their group scarves, badges and Beaver Scout Log Books. Then it was the turn of the 5 Cub Scouts, who together said their Law & Promise, after which they were presented with their group scarves, badges and Cub Scout Power Packs.

It was then the Scouts turn, all 7 Scouts came to the front of the hall to say their Law & Promise. Afterwards they were presented with their group scarves and badges. And finally, the new Leaders were invested, all 7 Leaders stood in front of the entire group and said their Promise.

It was then time for a quick photo call before the young members were given a quick snack and a drink before they went home. Pictured below, the growing family of Beech Hill Scout Group...
