You would think that this would be one of the easiest things to try to
explain, wouldn't you? It's a simple question with so many possible
answers and so many badges sewn in the wrong places! It doesn't help
that we wear three badges (Bedfordshire, Luton & Lea Valley) where most

...what to do to get an Activity Badge? |
|
|
There are five badges available for Beaver
Scouts, 32 for Cub Scouts, 70 for Scouts and 12 for Explorer Scouts. So
you can imagine that it's not easy for a leader to try and remember all
the requirements for a single badge! Below are links to the activity

There are of
course other badges for each of the sections, i.e. the Challenge Badges,
The Chief Scouts Awards, Moving On and the Joining In Awards. These are

...how I can support a section or group
as a parent? |
|
|
Scouting simply would not exist without the skills and enthusiasm of
thousands of adult helpers. Whether you can spare 30 minutes or two
hours a week or a day a month, we always need instructors, treasurers,
administrators, help with transport, camp cooks, people to run tuck
shops at the end of meetings, handymen & handywomen to help maintain the
scout HQ's and many others who share our aim of making life better for
young people. You don't need to know everything about Scouting - we'll
provide full training and ongoing support. What matters is that you are
committed, have a sense of humour and a huge amount of common sense!

A few hours of your time can make years of
difference
It's easy to get involved, speak to your sons or daughters leaders and
tell them how you would like to help out. Alternatively, you can speak
to your Group Scout Leader, or simply fill out the "Join Now" form by
clicking on the join now button below and we'll hand your details to the
right person.
We do have a list of current vacancies for the District, which includes
section leadership and district role vacancies. These can be found on
our Recruitment page, each has a role description attached for further
information.
