Goodbye & Hello Akela(s)

It's been an eventful year so far for a number of Cub Packs in Lea Valley District, with leaders moving on, moving to new groups and new leaders joining in. Here's a brief breakdown of who's gone where and who's who!

At Strathmore Cub Pack, we welcome Akela (Tim Barrett) who has taken over the running of the cub pack from Kim (Pete Harry). Akela is looking forward to growing the number of cubs in the pack and is very keen to hear from anyone interested in joining the cubs!

At St. Luke's Cubs we say goodbye to Akela (Adrian Samm), who has now moved on - more about this later! The pack is now being run by Won-tolla (Mark Webb), who is on the look out for adult helpers and potential leaders for the pack as well as recruiting new Cubs. A letter has recently been given out at Pirton Hill School inviting pupils to come and join the adventure of Scouting. So we are looking forward to greeting anyone interested in joining the Cubs very soon.

We're also wishing both Hannah (Rama) and Adrian (Akela) all the very best as we wait to hear about the birth of their baby, due very soon!

At Lea Cub Pack, "Big" Baloo (Geoff Wright) is now handing over the running of the pack to Akela (Adrian Samm) who has transferred in from St. Luke's. With the help of Bagheera (Manda Harrison), Mang (Hannah Gladman), David and Diane.

At the beginning of January, Slip End Cubs welcomed Akela (Jon Baker), formerly Akela at Lea Cub Pack.

Caddington Cubs said goodbye to their Akela (Alan Burnham) at the end of last year. Alan has taken up the role of Assistant County Commissioner Cub Scouts for Bedfordshire County Scouts. The pack is currently being run by Rita & Dave Timms, who are also on the look out for volunteers to become Cub Leaders and helpers.

All groups in the District are looking forward to attending Beds Camp 100, in May. Beds Camp 100 is this counties Scouting Centenary Celebration Camp, which will see over 2,500 Scout Members camping and taking part in adventurous activities.
