Goodbye & Hello Akela

It seems like only yesterday that Lea Scout Group were saying Hello to Akela (Jon), in fact it's been several months! But come the New Year, Akela is leaving Lea Scout Group. The Cub Pack & Other Leaders at the group said farewell and thank you to Akela on Friday the 1st December, their last meeting this year at the Scout HQ in Bodmin Road.

It isn't all sad news, as Akela isn't leaving Scouting all together. He is instead going back to Slip End Scout Group and is taking up the reigns as Akela for Slip End Cub Pack. Where the cubs are really excited about having a new Akela, especially as most of them remember Jon in his former role as Kestrel, a helper at Slip End Beaver Colony.

Lea Cub Pack will be in good hands as they will be looked after by Big Baloo (Geoff), Bagheer (Manda) and Baloo (David) in the New Year whilst the search for a new Akela gets under way.
