Goodbye Akela ...
|
|
 |
|
Slip End cub pack have said goodbye to
their Akela just before the October half term break. Trish Peters is
hanging up her woggle after being Akela for just over two years,
unfortunately work commitments and looking after her family are dragging
Trish away from Scouting for the time being.
Trish took over the running of Slip End cub
pack from the district cub scout team in 2004, after a number of years
away from scouting. Coming back into a leader position was an eye opener
for Trish as the section programmes had changed from what she was used
too. She had plenty of fun and adventure along the way, learning with
the cubs and other leaders.
Whilst Trish will be missed, the pack will
continue to run on Monday evenings under the leadership of Mike Hockey
(the group scout leader) until the end of the year. From January 2007, a
new Akela will take the reigns of Slip End, as Jon Baker returns to his
home patch after a brief spell away at Lea Scout Group.
