Lea Valley District
covers the area of Luton west of Marsh Road and the Lower Luton Road.
It extends beyond the Luton Borough boundary to include the villages of
Caddington and Slip End.
The District was formed in 1986 as a
result of the merger of parts of two previous Luton Districts: Chiltern
and Stockwood.
Our District badge shows St Mary's
Church (the town parish church in the centre of Luton), and the River
Lea which has its source in Luton.
There are 7 Active Scout Groups in Lea Valley District at present and a
newly formed Explorer Scout Unit. We are hoping to start another Scout
Group at Our
Lady Help of Christians Church, in Castle Street, as soon
we've found some Leaders.
